In 2015, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) collaborated to produce their first combined post-resuscitation care guidelines, which were co-published in Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine. These 2025 guidelines represent the third collaboration between the ERC and ESICM and reflect the science published since the previous guidelines in 2021. The topics covered include post-cardiac arrest syndrome, control of oxygenation and ventilation, haemodynamic targets, coronary reperfusion, targeted temperature management, control of seizures, prognostication, long-term outcome and rehabilitation.
